Dying Light: The Following- Cults, dune buggies, and lots of zombies to kill

Techland has released some details about the upcoming expansion to its parkour/zombie game Dying Light. The Following brings back protagonist Kyle Crane, and he learns of a cult in the mountainous countryside surrounding Harran. Take a look at the reveal trailer below.

Crane learns of this cult, who may or may not be immune to the zombie plague. But uncovering that information won’t be easy, as Crane will first have to gain their trust. While Dying Light: The Following has a starting point and story beats along the way, it will be up to the players to figure out how best to gather information from the locals. Lead designer Maciej Binkowski clues us in.

“You have lots of missions to choose from, and you just pick and choose how you want to play. And if you complete enough of them, if you build enough trust, then the locals start talking to you. Then maybe they will tell you something that will lead you to the leader of the cult. And then maybe you’ll finally get your answers why these people are immune to the virus.”

Aiding you in getting around this time is a dune buggy at your disposal. This not only works from getting from Point A to Point B, and is useful in mowing down zombie hordes in your path as well. You’ll be able to upgrade the dune buggy and outfit it with new weapons, as well as increase Crane’s Driving Rank and upgrade his driving skills.

There is no release date yet, but Techland assures that it is coming “soon”. The expansion will be available for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One, and will run you $15 (USD) if you don’t have the season pass.
