E3 2016- EA Conference Highlights

EA was up first to kick off this year’s E3. Not much was shown off, and it seemed little information was given on games like Mass Effect Andromeda and their upcoming Star Wars titles. They did say current games will be getting a lot of support, pledging that we’ll see the biggest amount of updates across both consoles and the PC. Also mentioned was the EA Originals program, set up to support small developers. Below are the highlights of the conference.

Titanfall 2

Both a new multiplayer trailer and one for the single player campaign was shown. Six new Titans will be introduced to the multiplayer, which will allow for greater customization and is said to have a deep progression system. Titanfall 2 is slated to be released on October 28 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Madden NFL 17

The new iteration of Madden is being said to be its most balanced game ever, and features a new commentary team.

Mass Effect Andromeda

Not much was revealed and no release date was given. The game will be a whole new adventure with a new cast, and is said to give players more freedom in their gameplay. The game will be running on the Frostbite engine.

The next FIFA showed off its new campaign mode. Called The Journey, players will follow Alex Hunter as he makes his way up. The game for the first time features premiere league managers, and boasts of four major overhauls in physical play, set piece rewrite, new attacking techniques, and improved AI.

A new platformer game, the first to be supported by EA Originals. The game is said to be open and will not be holding players’ hands.

Star Wars

We got a little information on the upcoming Star Wars games from EA. We know Battlefront 2 will be coming in 2017, and an action adventure game from Visceral will follow in 2018. Respawn is also working on a third person action adventure.

Battlefield 1

Things wrapped up with a new trailer for Battlefield 1.

Stay tuned for more news from E3 2016.
