One of the most popular game series available today is Rockstar Games’ own Grand Theft Auto. The series isn’t shy to touch on controversial matters, which makes gamers even more excited. For the upcoming installment, Grand Theft Auto VI, we may have an idea when it will be coming.
At the Brasil Game Show 2019, Steven Ogg (voice actor for Trevor and GTA V) mentioned that Grand Theft Auto VI will be coming “soon”. Moreover, he added on to say that “Games take 7 to 8 years to make, do the math.” With GTA V initially released in 2013, this would put the upcoming game somewhere in 2020 or 2021.
This may seem odd as Steven Ogg is just the voice actor for Trevor, and there was no confirmation of him being part of the upcoming game. However, we’ve seen characters make appearance in other GTA games before, so we wouldn’t be surprised if Trevor appears in the game.
There is also a good chance that Steven Ogg is simply speculating on the release of Grand Theft Auto VI. What we know thus far is that Rockstar Games is working on multiple projects, with many expecting Bully 2 to be next hit title from them. With Bully 2 cancelled however, it appears that the next one may just be a new GTA game.
We do believe that it will be launched at least not long after the next-gen consoles are released. With the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett coming in Holiday 2020, we can either expect it to be released at the same time, or just slightly later. For now, take this information with a grain of salt.
Pokdepinion: Well, I do expect the game to pop up around the same time as next-gen consoles. So I’m gonna estimate it to be launching either end 2020 or early 2021.
