Iron Maiden’s “Speed of Light” video a tribute to videogames

The British heavy metal band Iron Maiden has released a video for their new song “Speed of Light” which plays out as a homage to videogames over the years. In the video, the band’s mascot Eddie appears in several games inspired by real world counterparts, beginning with a Donkey Kong-esque game and culminating with the band’s version of Call of Duty. Take a look at the video below.

The video was directed by Llexi Leon with the animations being done by The Brewery. Iron Maiden is entering their 40th year, and “Speed of Light” will be appearing on their 18th studio album, The Book Of Souls.

Iron Maiden: The Book Of Souls is set for release on September 4.
