As part of the February Nintendo Direct, a demo for Daemon X Machina called ‘Prototype Missions’ was released onto the Switch eShop. The game’s producer, Kenichiro Tsukuda, noted that it would only be available for a limited time, and it would seem that the end date is near.
The official page for the game on Nintendo’s Japanese website notes that any save data and progress from the demo cannot be carried over to the full release later this year, and that it will cease to be available on the eShop from Monday 11th March (so one week today). The equivalent page in the US doesn’t provide an end date, but we’d assume that it will be removed across the eShop worldwide.
Update: It has since come to our attention that the 11th March end date has also been confirmed for the west in a recent Nintendo Newsletter.
If you haven’t checked it out for yourself yet, you might want to download it pretty sharpish. As a reminder, some players who have experienced the demo have been asked to provide feedback via a survey; make sure to check your email inboxes for survey invitations if you’ve played the demo, and feel free to offer additional feedback on social media, as requested by the development team during the Direct last month.
