Main characters revealed for Resident Evil Revelations 2

According to the latest issue of GamesMaster the main characters in the recently unveiled sequel to Resident Evil Revelations will feature Claire Redfield and the daughter of Barry Burton, Moira. Claire apparently will be taking the lead as far as combat goes, with Moira providing support. The game will be able to be played as a single player or the campaign can be tackled co-op.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is reportedly going to be more survival horror, akin to earlier entries in the franchise, rather than be action oriented like Resident Evils 5 and 6. The game takes place between those two titles within a detention facility on an abandoned island, where Claire and Moira find themselves after being kidnapped. They’ll have to deal with new enemies called Afflicted, which are said to be “quite different” from the traditional zombies found in the series.

Producer Michiteru Okabe says fans were listened to in making the game more horror than action. “The project has been finding the line between listening to fan feedback and also doing something different to confound expectations. I want this to be both a game that doesn’t lose what made its predecessor great, while also bringing something new and exciting to the Resident Evil series. Achieving that lofty goal by bringing together past and future will make this an itchy-tasty prospect indeed.”

Even though the first game first appeared on the Nintendo 3DS, the sequel will not be showing up on any Nintendo platform. The game is set to release on the PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One in 2015.
