Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays wishes to all of our readers!

christmas controllersIt’s getting down to the end of the year now, and 2013 has been a terrific one for gaming. AAA titles continue to come out and impress on the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. Two next gen consoles have made their appearance in the PS4 and the Xbox One. And handhelds are getting their share of terrific games, both on the Playstation Vita and on the Nintendo 3DS. Mobile gamers even got an extra option to game on the go from Nintendo in the form of the 2DS. The PC hasn’t been neglected either, getting it’s share of excellent games, from both major publishers and indie developers. It has been one of the best years for gaming, with plenty of choices in how to game, and many games appearing cross platform so all can enjoy them, regardless of the gaming device of choice.

It’s been a year where we’ve seen familiar franchises put out new offerings (GTA V, Assassin’s Creed IV, Call of Duty: Ghosts, among others) and we’ve gotten some excellent new IPs (The Last of Us, Puppeteer, Beyond: Two Souls). Indie games got a real boost from titles like Guacamelee!, Gone Home, Papers, Please, The Stanley Parable, and Contrast. 3DS users got a new Zelda, two new Pokemon games, Fire Emblem: Awakening, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf. Vita got a great new shooter in Killzone: Mercenary, along with create your own world games like Terraria. Telltale’s The Walking Dead made the jump to Vita and began a new season on consoles and PC. And Playstation owners can finally dive into the best selling world of Minecraft as the game makes it’s debut on Sony’s console. All in all, it’s been a great year for games, with a wide variety to appeal to any gamer, both young and old, new to gaming or seasoned vets. 2014 sees even more titles on the way, and those who dove into the next gen of consoles have a lot to look forward to.

And along the way, we’ve been covering the games, movies, and TV shows that have entertained us over the past year. We’re still growing as a site, and our writers trying to expand our coverage as best we can. More writers with varied backgrounds are still needed, and I hope we can add a few new voices to our writing staff over the next year to give even more coverage and a wider variety of coverage for all those games, movies, and shows we enjoy. From our staff, I’d like to extend wishes for a happy, healthy, and safe holiday season to all of our readers. Thank you for taking an interest in our site, and I hope you’ve enjoyed our articles and coverage, and continue to spread the word about us. 2014 is going to be another banner year, and I hope you’ll be with us for the ride. Writers are nothing without their readers, so again, I thank you for your support and interest.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all of you! Here’s looking forward to a great 2014!happy holidays
