Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst- Faith gets an origin story
Faith is getting an origin story in Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst, a prequel to Mirror’s Edge (2008). The game was originally announced at E3 in 2013 but only recently given its new title. The parkour is being said to be far more fluid this time around, with an accessibility system to give players the skills needed to move about the city, whether they be novices or veterans. This fluidity of movement will extend to combat as well, as Faith doesn’t use guns, and will allow her to use the environment to her advantage. The game takes place in the city of Glass, and in between missions players will have the freedom to explore as much as they’d like. As Faith’s skill grows and she acquires more gadgets more and more places will become accessible for exploration to see what secrets can be found. Players can also participate in races or try to solve environmental puzzles located around the city. All of this will be from a first person perspective like the first game, allowing players to become Faith and immerse themselves in her world.
Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst is coming for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It is set for release on February 23, 2016, and preorders for the digital version will net players the Combat Runner Kit and the Speed Runner Kit.
