This year seems to be packed with great games, and the highly anticipated remake of Resident Evil 3 may be one of the best. Featured on the PlayStation Blog, the latest trailer from Capcom shows how Nemesis has changed while keeping the little touches (and a rocket launcher) that made him even tougher than Mr. X, although maybe less stylish. Mr. X had a fedora and trenchcoat after all.
Where Nemesis excels is his ability to take a punch or impact with a car as shown in the trailer. Jill Valentine can inflict the damage, but he keeps regenerating. When it’s time for him to punch back, he has a rocket launcher and a flamethrower. The trailer also shows his fast tentacles reaching out for Jill. He is definitely someone to avoid.
The trailer’s not all Nemesis based. Beyond seeing more of Jill and Carlos, we are introduced to more members of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (U.B.C.S.) They don’t appear to be jazzed to see Jill Valentine, but the city is going down and tensions are high. They don’t yet realize that she is the hero. She’ll need that heroism when taking on zombies and the hunter revealed in the trailer.
I’ve watched the trailer a couple of times already, and Resident Evil 3 is looking impressive. I’ve added some extra Nemesis screenshots at the bottom, but you can see a ton of new Resident Evil 3 screenshots here. Raccoon City looks great, and you’ll need fast reflexes to escape it when Resident Evil 3 drops on April 3, 2020.

Jason became terminally addicted to videogames after receiving the NES at an early age. This addiction grew to include PC gaming and was cemented with the launch of the PS2. From then on, he was afflicted with epic RPGs, tense shooters, and deep strategy games, never becoming skillful, but never able to quit. He continues to play games (poorly) and share his passion for them to anyone willing to listen.
