New releases for the week of Monday, February 8, 2016

Here in the second full week of February it’s a busy one for zombie slaying, assassins, ninjas, and a cute little guy made of yarn that goes on a journey. And one crazy red suited ninja assassin type guy who loves chimichangas. Last year’s surprise hit zombie/parkour game Dying Light gets both a huge expansion this week and a special edition on disc containing all the DLC. The Following expansion contains a map that’s bigger than the original game, with plenty of open space to traverse in your souped up dune buggy modified to mow down the walking dead. The expansion can be purchased separately, as part of the season pass, or as part of the nifty Enhanced Edition of the game. Fans of assassin’s Creed get a double dose this week with the final entry in the Chronicles series, Russia, landing on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC this week. You can get that on its own or get all three- China, India, and Russia- as part of the Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Trilogy Pack. More ninja goodness hits in the anime inspired Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. And a cute little guy named Yarny goes on an adventure in the adorable looking platformer Unravel. Coming to home video this week is the Gothic ghost story from Guillermo del Toro Crimson Peak, the holiday flavored comedy Love the Coopers, the real estate drama 99 Homes, and James Bond takes on bad guys in SPECTRE. On the big screen this week is everybody’s favorite fourth wall breaking, wisecracking agent of violent chaos from Marvel. Yep, Deadpool gets his own movie, and we can only hope he’s treated much better this time around than he was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Also hitting theaters this week is the romantic comedy How to be Single, the comedy sequel Zoolander 2, and Michael Moore uses more satire to prove a political point in Where to Invade Next. Off we go to this week’s list and remember, as always, release dates are subject to change.
