New releases for the week of Monday, January 11, 2016
A few offerings on tap this week for gamers, though all are digital releases. The next installment of the 2.5D sidescroller Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, this one set in India, arrives this week for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One. The Banner Saga makes its way from PC to consoles, as does the critically acclaimed tale Gone Home. There’s even an offering for the Ouya (remember that platform?) with the game That Dragon, Cancer. Ridley Scott’s The Martian arrives on home video this week as does the animated monster mash comedy Hotel Transylvania 2 and the horror sequels Sinister 2 and Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension. On the big screen this week is Michael Bay’s look at the Benghazi attack in 13 Hours along with the animated Norm of the North and the action comedy Ride Along 2. Time for this week’s list and, as always, release dates are subject to change.
