Next Battlefield Game Officially Revealed

A New Battlefield Epic Awaits

EA and DICE revealed the next entry into their Battlefield franchise. Titled Battlefield 1, the game takes players backwards in time to World War 1 where they will follow several characters across the globe during that conflict. Locales are said to include the Western Front, the Italian Alps, and Arabia. Combat is being said to be more visceral and brutal, with close quarters combat being featured with various melee weapons. Gameplay will also feature plenty of new vehicles, including bomber planes, light and heavy tanks, and even battleships. And horses. Take a look at the official trailer below.

Not a lot of details were given at the reveal, save that multiplayer will have massive 64 player battles. The single player campaign is said to have player choice, although whether that means the story will have branching paths or there are just different ways to approach missions is yet to be revealed (We’re promised more information “over the next few months”.). Combat will be on land, in the air, and at sea, and we are promised destructible environments.
