Eurogamer has reported on some details for the next game in Ubisoft’s Far Cry series. Far Cry 4 is reportedly going to be set in the Himalayas, shifting away from the more tropical environments from previous titles. The settings will have both snowy and sunny alpine climes, and players will be able to ride elephants as well. Outposts will once again be spread around the region, and the emphasis on hunting local fauna will return (but will we have yetis?). The game is slated to be released prior to March 2015 for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One, with Ubisoft set to make an official announcement at E3 in June. No word as yet as to whether versions for the PS3 and Xbox 360 will also be developed. Stay tuned for more details after E3.
Two more Assassin’s Creed games are reportedly on their way to consoles this year. A sneak peek for one, currently being called Unity, is below (trailer courtesy of assassinscreedUK).
Unity is slated to take place in France, possibly during the French Revolution. Unity will be released on the PS4 and Xbox One (looks like Wii U users won’t be getting this, at least for now), and Ubisoft is shooting to launch the game sometime this fall. Another Assassin’s Creed title, currently codenamed Comet, is reportedly being developed for the PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s possible this too will feature a French locale, though that hasn’t been confirmed yet. Stay tuned for more details.
