It’s been confirmed that Sucker Punch’s next title in the InFamous franchise will be a single player experience only. Speaking to Taiwanese site UDN (via Dualshockers), the game’s brand development director Ken Schramm confirmed that there will be no multiplayer aspect to InFamous: Second Son. The single player experience will have main character Delsin meeting multiple NPCs throughout the game, and does have an open architecture, allowing you to do side missions outside of the main story when you wish. Be aware that certain situations will depend upon your alignment, and some will disappear depending on the choices you make. InFamous: Second Son is due out March 21 for the PS4.
In other news for Sony’s console, it was confirmed that the MMO EverQuest Next will be coming to the PS4, though no release date was given at this time. It was also confirmed that Planetside 2 is still on its way, though again no window on when players can expect to see the game. John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment, taking part in a Reddit AMA wrote in regards to Planetside 2, “This year is what we’re shooting for. It’s taking time to do this right but coming along great.” Square Enix also announced that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will launch on the PS4 on April 14. For those who have already purchased the game for the PS3 they will be able to update it for their PS4 for free. A Collector’s Edition has been announced for the PS4 version, having the same goodies as the PS3 and PC Collector’s Editions, along with a Wind-Up Moogle companion and a Fat Chocobo mount.
