Quick hits- Lost Planet 3 delayed (again!), Muramasa coming to Vita

Capcom’s Lost Planet 3 is being delayed once again. Originally slated to come out in March and then pushed back to June, the sci-fi shooter has now been given the release date of August 27 in North America and August 30 in Europe.

Fans of the cult classic  Wii game Muramasa: The Demon Blade will be happy to know that the game is coming to the Playstation Vita under the new title Muramasa Rebirth.  The game is set to hit both stores and the Playstation Network on June 25. A special edition, called the Amitahba Collector’s Edition, will also be available. The collector’s edition contains such goodies as a lithograph, a skin for your Vita, a special pouch, and a cover. Preordering the game will also net players the game’s soundtrack.

On the movie front, Quentin Tarantino’s homage to the spaghetti Western, Django Unchained, hits DVD and Blu-ray on April 16. Also, Anne Hathaway is reported to be heading for a reunion with her director of The Dark Knight Rises. Deadline reports that Hathaway is slated to appear in Christopher Nolan’s next film, a sci-fi flick called Interstellar. The movie, which also stars Matthew McConaughey, follows a group of explorers who pass through a wormhole. The plot is said to deal with time travel and alternate dimensions, and is reported to be based on the theories of theoretical and gravitational physicist Kip Thorne. The movie, which is a joint production between Paramount Studios and Warner Bros., is slated to hit theaters November 7, 2014.

Fans of the Avatar spin-off The Legend of Korra will be happy to know that the series has gotten a DVD/Blu-ray release date. The Legend of Korra Book One: Air is set to come out on July 16, 2013, and marks the first time that a Nickelodeon series has been put on the Blu-ray format. The set will contain all twelve episodes along with commentaries for each episode.

Wrapping this up, summer movie season is fast approaching, with Iron Man 3 kicking things off on May 3. That’s just the beginning of a nice selection of films, including such titles as Star Trek: Into Darkness, Zack Snyder’s take on Superman with Man of Steel, and Guillermo del Toro’s giant monster/robot mash-up Pacific Rim. What movies are you guys excited for this summer? Let us know in the comments below!

Til next time…
