Quick Hits- Play as a horror icon in new Call of Duty DLC, Depp as Doctor Strange?

The first DLC pack from Accoddlctivision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts will be arriving soon, and contains “something menacing”. That “something” turns out to be none other than horror movie icon Michael Myers, the serial killer from John Carpenter’s classic 1978 horror film Halloween. Myers is one of the characters you can play as in the Fog map in the game’s Onslaught DLC pack, which is set for release on January 28. Onslaught is the first of four DLC packs that will be released for Call of Duty: Ghosts, to be followed by Devastation, Invasion, and Nemesis. Not too coincidentally, the first letters of each of the four packs spell out ODIN, the god from Norse mythology who is associated with war, battle, victory, and death. ODIN was also the weapon that set off the chain of events in the game’s single player campaign. As Myers, you’ll be able to hunt down victims with an axe through a location that contains a cabin and, appropriately enough for a horror icon, a torture chamber. The DLC pack will release on January 28 first for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, free for Season Pass holders. The DLC will eventually come to the PS4, PS3, Wii U, and PC, but Activision has not yet released a date when it will be available on those platforms.

Latino-Review, which has done a decent job in the past at uncovering bits of info in relation to comic book movies, reports “that Johnny Depp has taken a meeting with Marvel to discuss taking on the role of Dr. Strange.” Doctor Strange is one of the titles in Marvel’s Phase 3 of their cinematic universe, meaning the film wouldn’t hit theaters until sometime in 2016. Depp already has two projects coming up for Marvel owner Disney in Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and Alice in Wonderland 2. It’s nothing definite yet, but it would add yet another different character to Depp’s stable that he already has for Disney. We’ll let you know as we hear more on this story.

What do you think, readers? Anxious to slice and dice as Michael Myers in Onslaught? Would Depp be a good fit for the Marvel sorceror? Let us know in the comments below.
