Rockstar being sued by actress Lindsay Lohan
According to a TMZ report, lawyers for actress Lindsay Lohan (Mean Girls, The Parent Trap, Machete) are in the process of drafting a lawsuit against Rockstar Games that reportedly asks for “serious money” in damages, saying that her image was used without her permission in the latest title from the developer, Grand Theft Auto V. Since nothing official has been filed yet, it’s not clear which part in the game contained a likeness of her, though TMZ has pointed out the box art features a woman holding a cell phone that may bear a resemblance to the actress. The game also features a mission where players help a Lohan-esque actress escape the paparazzi, though that mission could be said to be a parody of any number of actresses who’ve appeared in tabloid headlines.
If this suit does indeed see the light of day, it wouldn’t be the first to hit the courts over Rockstar’s billion dollar behemoth. In October, rapper Daz Dillinger filed a lawsuit saying that Rockstar used two of his songs in GTA V without his permission. He demanded monetary compensation or that all unsold remaining copies of the game be destroyed.
