Sega trademarks Persona 5 Strikers, plus other Japanese trademarks

Persona 5 Strikers

Sega has filed a logo trademark for “Persona 5 Strikers” in Japan.

While Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers is an already announced, upcoming title from Sega-owned Atlus, it has only been announced for Japan and under the aforementioned name. The name “Persona 5 Strikers,” however, previously appeared in an English Nintendo earnings release in October under the upcoming third-party titles section for Japan, suggesting that Persona 5 Strikers will be what Atlus West calls the game when it releases in the Americas and Europe. Atlus tends to shorten its more complicated titles for the west, as seen with Persona 4 Arena (called Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena), Persona 4 Arena Ultimax (Persona 4: The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold), and so on.

In other trademark news, Bandai Namco Entertainment filed trademarks for “Tensei shitara Slime Datta Ken” and “Ten-Sli,” suggesting it may be working on a game based on the popular light novel, manga, and anime series (known as That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime in the west). Square Enix also filed a trademark for “NieR,” and Capcom trademarked 50 of its classic titles.
