Sony Subject to Announce More PS4 Games at Gamescom

Sony is generally more quick to announce new games at Gamescom, the European E3, than at both E3 and Tokyo Game Show. In true Sony tradition, that doesn’t seem to be changing any time soon.

Sony has 20 exclusives on the back-burner, and has already announced 7 of them: DriveClub, inFamous: Second Son, Deep Down, Killzone: Shadow Fall, Knack, Octodad: Deadliest Catch, and The Order: 1886; all of which are looking considerably strong, and will be a big deciding factor for people who are considering buying a PS4.

Jim Ryan of SCCE said in a interview that the company would be announcing a fine share of games at this year’s show; as well as confirmed that the PS4 would be releasing in Europe slightly before the 2013 holiday season.

“There’s a lot coming. I’m sure you heard from Shu [Yoshida] that he has 30 games in development. 20 of them are going to ship within the first year of the console’s life, and of those 12 are new IP,” Jim said. “There’s a lot going on, we need to keep stuff back. We’ve got Gamescom for us Europeans–we need to have something to show at Gamescom, don’t we?”

We may finally find out just what developers such as Naughty Dog and Media Molecule are up to with the PS4, as well as the collective slew of other tech-hungry developers. Time will give us the answers we seek.

(Gamescom begins August 21st and ends on the 25th. More info can be found here.)

Video Game Reviewer/Critic at Leet Gamers Asia
Two things I love with a passion are video games and writing, and what's a better combination of those two things than being a game reviewer? 'Cause that's what I am. A reviewer for Leet Gamers Asia.

My tastes in games breach all genres, though my fortes are platformers and first-person shooters. My favorite game series is probably Super Mario, specifically the 3D games. I also love Rayman, Hitman, Bioshock, Half-Life/Portal, Uncharted, and Grand Theft Auto. As for my favorite game, it's hard to say: I love Portal 2, Shadow of the Colossus, Half-Life 2, Bioshock, Resident Evil 4, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Rayman Legends, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Grand Theft Auto IV, L.A. Noire, Fallout 3, Journey, and Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence all so damn much.
