StarCraft II’s final chapter in the series, Legacy of the Void, had its release date revealed by Blizzard during the StarCraft World Championship series. The Protoss focused title is a stand-alone expansion, and will be available for PC and Macintosh on November 10. A cinematic trailer was also released. Check it out below.
Legacy of the Void is now available for pre-purchase on Battle.net, and will run you $40 (USD) for the standard edition. Those getting the expansion digitally will also get the Whispers of Oblivion prologue missions. Other editions are also going to be available. The Digital Deluxe Edition will run you $60 (USD) and will contain bonus in game content for other Blizzard games (an Archon pet in World of Warcraft, a Protoss themed card in Hearthstone, and a Void Speeder mount for Heroes of the Storm). The Collector’s Edition ($80 USD) gives you all that plus a full color, hardcover StarCraft Field Manual, a DVD on cinematics and special features, and the soundtrack on a physical CD. The Collector’s Edition is exclusive to retail.
The expansion will feature several new modes of play and two new units for online multiplayer. Those purchasing Legacy of the Void will also receive the upcoming hero Artanis when he is released for Heroes of the Storm.
