The Nintendo Switch 6.0.0 firmware has many people looking forward to their online service, but there’s more to this firmware update than meets the eye.
There’s More to the Nintendo Switch 6.0.0 Firmware Than Just the Online Service
While the main highlight of the latest 6.0.0 firmware for the Nintendo Switch is the online service, there is certainly more to this update than you’ve expected.
Your Nintendo Switch console was originally designated the “active console,” but now it’s your “primary console”. What difference does it make? Well, now can now play your games on other “non-primary consoles.”
What that means is that you can log into your Nintendo Account on someone else’s Nintendo Switch console, and through that account, download digital games from your primary console onto this other one. Of course, there are restrictions, such as the game can only be played through that same account and will require internet connection.
The games can only be played on one console at a time from the same account. Trying to play the game on two consoles will pause the game on one of them. Either way, this will be handy in a household with multiple Nintendo Switch consoles or if you’re heading to a friend’s place, one who owns one as well, and want to play a specific game.
Other than that, new features from the firmware update include the ability to post up to four pictures from your console at once to social media platforms, as well as new profile icons from Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker.
Pokdepinion: This is gonna come in handy when I’m going over to some of my friends’ places, that’s for sure.
