This Week's Japanese Game Releases: Pokemon Sword and Shield, Tokyo Ghoul: re Call to Exist, more

Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield for Switch, and Tokyo Ghoul: re Call to Exist for PlayStation 4 are the highlights of this week’s Japanese game releases.

The latest core entry in the Pokemon RPG series, Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield are set in the new Galar region, where you will choose from three new starter Pokemon to begin your adventure. During your journey, you will meet new Pokemon, challenge the evil Team Yell, unravel the mysteries behind the new legendary Pokemon, explore the Wild Area, and team up with other players locally or online in Max Raid Battles where mega-size Pokemon called Dynamax Pokemon face off. Some Pokemon can go beyond Dynamax to Gigantamax, where they sport a new look and move set.

In Tokyo Ghoul re: Call to Exist, players can become either the Ghouls of the Investigators and battle it out in fast-paced, four-versus-four online battles in modes such as “Deathmatch” and “Survival.” Characters from Tokyo Ghoul, Tokyo Ghoul √A, and Tokyo Ghoul: re will appear.
