6.3 million copies is the target number that Ubisoft is shooting for the upcoming open world title Watch Dogs. CEO Yves Guillemot based that number with the success of the first assassin’s creed game in mind, and revealed it during a company financial call. The game releases on May 27 for the PS3, PS4, PC, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, with a later release set for the Wii U.

According to Ubisoft, the Assassin’s Creed franchise has become the fourth best selling brand, trailing behind Call of Duty, Mario, and FIFA. South Park: The Stick of Truth also sold strongly, though no actual figures were provided for the Obsidian developed RPG. Guillemot also stated that the Assassin’s Creed franchise will continue to be supported with new releases for the PS3 and Xbox 360 for the “foreseeable future”. Assassin’s Creed Unity, set during the French Revolution, has been announced for the PS4, PC, and Xbox One for this year, while PS3 and Xbox 360 users will be getting a game currently codenamed Assassin’s Creed: Comet, which follows the adventures of a Templar named Shay in 1758 and is said to be a direct sequel to Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag.
