The new 2D platformer Unravel was announced during EA’s conference at E3. Unravel is the product of the small Swedish developer Coldwood Interactive, and features an adorable looking character made of yarn named appropriately Yarny. The character trails a yarn string behind him, which can be used to aid in movement about the environment. The environments took their inspiration from those found in northern Sweden. The story is meant to be an emotional one, with the yarn representing love and its ties to those we form relationships with. Movement is all physics based, and the yarn can be used to attach to things, such as a fish to tow a boat, or to a branch to help you swing across a gap.
The game is coming for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One, though for now no release date has been given.
